Jo is a registered nurse working full time as the CNM (Charge Nurse Manager) of IPC at Te Whatu Ora Southern NZ. She has worked in the field of IPC for over 25 years and during this time has been actively involved in national and local IPC initiatives. Currently she is one of the two IPCNC representatives on the Health Quality & Safety Commission Strategic IPC advisory group and a member of the national infection service. Jo has completed a Master’s in Public Health (2016) (distinction) with her dissertation exploring clinical governance within NZ DHB’s. During her time in IPC it has been obvious to Jo the importance to have IPC links with ARC. An opportunity arose during COVID to obtain some dedicated IPC ARC resource within the Southern IPC team to support ARC. This has provided opportunities to work closely with the ARC community in Southern with positive outcomes.
