Lisa Gilbert has been an IPC practitioner for over 20 years, working in the public and private sectors of the NZ health service. She is currently the chair of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) Infection Prevention and Control Nurses College.
Lisa has been a member of several national IPC group for the advancement of IPC as a profession and provide safe care for Māori and non-Māori. Lisa was a member of the NZ Ministry of Health’s National Infection Prevention and Control Leadership Group. This group was set up to provide guidance to the health sector about infection prevention and control. The group lead the development of a national IPC strategy. Lisa was also a member of the Accident Compensation Corporation’s (ACC) Treatment Injury Infections advisory group providing guidance to ACC for programmes and initiatives to prevention healthcare acquired infections.
