Dr Sonia Chanchlani is Assistant Director of the National Health, Sustainability and Climate Unit within the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care. She is part of the team implementing Australia’s first National Health and Climate Strategy and is leading the establishment of a working group to operationalise the Joint Statement signed by all Specialist Medical Colleges, ‘Working together to achieve sustainable high-quality health care in a changing climate’.
Sonia is a doctor with over 15 years of diverse clinical and leadership roles across the country. She has an academic appointment at the University of Melbourne undertaking implementation research, leading sustainability healthcare quality improvement, and is passionate about driving systems change across the health sector.
