GAMA Healthcare is a dynamic, innovative company at the forefront of infection prevention technology. Specialising in the manufacture and distribution of revolutionary infection prevention and control (IPC) products and extensive after-sales support, we exist to help prevent infections to save and improve lives. Founded in 2004 by two doctors, Dr Guy Braverman and Dr Allen Hanouka, who together saw a need for clinically proven infection prevention solutions within hospitals, GAMA has established itself as the gold-standard choice for infection prevention professionals worldwide. Our journey began with creating the world’s first universal detergent-disinfectant wipe, Clinell Universal Wipes. Combining innovative technology with ease of use, our product range has since expanded beyond surface decontamination and spans hand hygiene, skin care, patient isolation, air filtration and more. Supported by verified science and comprehensive after-sales support including bespoke product training, we are now market leaders in 11 countries, including the UK and Australia. With staff spread over 6 locations in the United Kingdom, Australia and China, GAMA is headquartered in Hemel Hempstead, England.
Recognising the importance of Clinical education when it comes to best IPC practice, we have a dedicated Clinical team who have extensive experience working in IPC. Meanwhile, the team at our research and development centre, based in Halifax, England, continually discovers and develops new innovations and existing products that enable us to remain at the forefront of infection prevention.
‘‘Best practice” are two words the Whiteley organisation takes very seriously. Because in the field of cleaning and infection control – best practice saves lives and livelihoods. And given how pathogens spread and mutate so easily, improving infection prevention processes has never been more important. Fortunately, under the leadership of Dr. Greg Whiteley – a world-renowned expert on infection prevention and control, best practice is always advancing. An obsessive focus on clinical research combined with a bespoke TGA certified manufacturing facility has already led to many significant advances in hand hygiene as well as medical instrument and hard surface cleaning and disinfection. And these have been relied upon by healthcare facilities both in Australia and overseas for many decades. And today, more than ever, that has never been more important. Whiteley believes in patient safety and are committed to developing cutting edge technologies to create safer, cleaner healthcare environments. Our strong focus on clinical research revolves around driving constant innovation in the area of Infection Prevention and Control. Whiteley has a long-term commitment to protecting lives and livelihoods. Visit the Whiteley stand at ACIPC to learn more about our latest products, research and development and training programs. “Tristel just supplies wipes.” “Tristel is only for ultrasound.” “We already use Trio.” Think you know Tristel? Think again.
After 30-years and counting, Tristel remains the global leader in chlorine dioxide disinfection solutions for infection prevention and control. With the Tristel ‘Trio50’ Wipes System available in Australasia for over a decade, Tristel has expanded its product portfolio to offer solutions for new applications. These include products built on the foundations of chlorine dioxide, as well as other infection control solutions. More than wipes, more than one product, more than one department, Tristel’s growth continues both in Australasia and beyond.
At the heart of Tristel’s success is a proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry. Chlorine dioxide is a broad-spectrum biocide with proven activity against bacteria, viruses, yeasts, mycobacteria, and bacterial spores in testing against global norms. Chlorine dioxide has a proven public record as a high-level, sporicidal disinfectant that is effective in contact times as short as 30 seconds.
Tristel provides chlorine dioxide in a number of forms for medical devices separate to wipes. Tristel’s ‘Stella System’ is a semi-automated system designed for high-level disinfection of medical devices with a five-minute cycle time. The ‘Duo’ range provides disinfection for non-critical ultrasound and ophthalmological devices with contact times of 30-seconds and two-minutes, respectively. Tristel’s ‘Rinse Assure’ System has been designed to generate and supply AS 5369 compliant final rinse water to Endoscope Washer Disinfectors (EWDs) via filtration, reverse osmosis, and trace dosing of chlorine dioxide. Finally, Tristel also offers a range of disinfection solutions for environmental surfaces.
Effective Infection Control cannot be achieved via a single product or practice; it is a combination of elements. This is why Tristel also provides accessory products and services to support product use, including for the user, the data, and the devices. The educational ‘Tristel Online Training Portal’ ensures users can receive in-servicing anywhere and anytime, including certifications for completion of education. ‘Tristel 3T’ provides facilities with the ability to implement digital traceability of disinfection cycles using a system with high levels of security and data privacy. And ‘Tristel Protect’ ensures validated, 72-hour storage of small and medium-sized medical devices using a dedicated, portable system.
Finally, Tristel partners with likeminded businesses pioneering infection control. Within Australasia, Tristel distributes the award-winning daisygrip tourniquet – a reusable tourniquet with a magnetic, self-finding buckle and silicone strap – able to be disinfected quickly and easily, and developed with sustainability and economy in mind.

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) works in partnership with patients, consumers, clinicians, managers, policy makers and healthcare organisations to achieve a sustainable, safe and high-quality health system.
Patient safety and quality is often summarised as the right care, in the right place, at the right time and cost. The Commission defines patient safety as prevention of error and adverse effects associated with health care; and quality as ‘the degree to which health services for individuals and populations increase the likelihood of desired health outcomes and are consistent with current professional knowledge’.
The Commission’s purpose is to lead improvements in the safety and quality of health care so all Australians receive better care, everywhere. Within this overarching purpose the Commission aims to ensure people are kept safe, including protection from healthcare-associated infections when they receive health care and that they receive the health care they should.
The Commission works in four priority areas:
Rhima specialises in equipment washing systems for businesses, industries and environments where impeccable hygiene and cleanliness are essential. Rhima offers complete infection control solutions, and hospitals in particular find it of great benefit to have one supplier for catering, ward and CSSD/TSSU washing and cleaning equipment:
Rhima’s ward washer/disinfectors are setting new standards in infection control. In particular, our range of Deko190 ward washers are combined washer disinfectors that flush, wash and disinfect all ward items in one contained process. No pre-sluicing is required with any of these machines, the machine will do all the dirty work. It will also fully clean and disinfect itself, including the wash chamber, water tank and outlet.
