When will we learn? Lessons from the COVID – 19 Pandemic
Dr Sally Roberts has trained in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology. She is the Clinical Lead for Microbiology and IPC at Auckland District Health Board (ADHB).
She also works for the Health Quality & Safety Commission New Zealand as the National Clinical Lead for the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programme supporting the Hand Hygiene New Zealand, Surgical Site Infection Improvement programme and other quality improvement programmes. She has a strong interest in clinical governance and patient safety.
Her involvement with COVID-19 started with planning for the Wuhan repatriation flights in late January 2020. She is a member of the Ministry of Health COVID National Technical Advisory Group and chairs the IPC subgroup. She has little free time at present but looks forward to travelling regionally once more when the Auckland border is relaxed and overseas when she no longer requires time in managed isolation upon return.
