Accreditation serves as a vital cornerstone of healthcare quality and safety, setting the stage for continuous improvement in healthcare practices. This presentation, titled “Raising the Bar,” offers a quick but comprehensive overview of accreditation and its myriad benefits in the Australian healthcare landscape. The presentation delves into the key infection prevention and control components of accreditation standards from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards, the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, and the newly introduced National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards.

Participants will gain valuable insights into the evolving healthcare accreditation framework, exploring how these standards not only raise the bar for patient care but also facilitate robust infection prevention and control measures.
