David grew up in Whyalla, South Australia where he ‘trained’ as a nurse and midwife. He has held several clinical roles meaning his career has been eclectic and diverse, working across Australia and in a number of other countries. David’s doctoral research focused on clinical leadership, and he has continued to investigate how clinical leadership and nursing leadership are perceived and practiced. His academic career involved supporting several nursing students on international practice trips to a range of countries. Now retired, David continues to write about nursing and clinical leadership while supporting and educating the future nursing workforce
