Rhiannon Box is a senior Commonwealth Health official with expertise in delivery and implementation. Rhiannon has led the Emergency Preparedness and Response Branch in the Ageing and Aged Care Group since February 2023, continuing the Australian Government’s support for the aged care sector in relation to outbreaks and emergencies. Her role is integral to supporting sector uplift in infection prevention and control guidance and outbreak preparedness practices.
Rhiannon has previously held roles at the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and the Department of Social Services, and performed a pivotal role in the development and delivery of the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-2032.
Rhiannon is passionate about reforming government programs and systems that aim to disrupt entrenched and intergenerational disadvantage. Rhiannon maintains a contemporary understanding of key issues and actively pursues consultation and partnerships with sector stakeholders, academics, front line workers and communities.
