Andrew Stewardson

Andrew is Associate Professor and Director, Infection Prevention and Healthcare Epidemiology at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Alfred Health and Monash University. His research has focuses on the health and economic impact of antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infections, the transmission dynamics of antimicrobial resistance, and the implementation of infection prevention and control interventions. He is the immediate past chair of the Healthcare Infection Control Special Interest Group (HICSIG) for the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases.
