The COVID-19 pandemic presented unprecedented challenges for organisations worldwide, compelling them to adapt to new operational models. This abstract explores the transformative impact of electronic auditing in enhancing management feedback processes and ensuring quality assurance measures during the COVID-19 era.

During an outbreak of COVID-19 in staff electronic auditing software was used by the Infection Prevention team to enable rapid assessment and evaluation of organisational practices and procedures by the senior leadership team.

Additionally, electronic auditing enabled real-time data collection, analysis, and reporting. Through secure online systems, auditors, department managers and senior executives could access and review crucial management information, enabling timely feedback on organisational performance. Such instantaneous feedback facilitated agile decision-making and allowed management to promptly address any identified deficiencies or gaps in quality standards, thus bolstering overall performance and resilience during the pandemic.

In addition, Infection Prevention were able to implement consistent audit protocols, ensuring uniformity across various departments, or even community based services. The digital nature of electronic auditing also reduced the potential for human error, enhancing the accuracy and reliability of audit findings.

In conclusion, electronic auditing played a pivotal role in transforming management feedback processes and bolstering quality assurance measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sandi has been passionately working in Infection Prevention for more than 20 yrs. She has worked globally in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Her key achievements during this time include surviving the pandemic, opening 2 new hospitals, managing numerous outbreaks and being part of the pilot project and state roll out of the hand hygiene program in Australia and New Zealand.
