Chris has worked as an Infection Control Consultant for the past eight years after discovering her passion for all things microbial and their effect on our everyday lives. Chris’s experience encompasses Acute care, Vascular Access, Public Health, and Community Based Services. Chris is now the Infection control Lead for Anglicare Southern Qld and her role covers Residential Foster Care, Homelessness Shelters, Home and Community services and 8 RACFs.
Chris has been known to add some creativity to themed promotional days. ‘Dressing up as a bug just adds a tangible and fun activity to the repetitive message like Hand Hygiene. Highlighting the seriousness of invisible organisms and their potential harm to susceptible people can be a challenge. Having a big green bug walk through our facilities reminding staff and residents of the importance of clean hands creates fun ways to interact with those she cares about, and laughing is always good, more so in a pandemic!
Chris is also very enthusiastic about sailing, and gardening. She divides her spare time out on Moreton Bay or working in her acreage garden in Toowoomba.
