Jillian Martinelli is the Nurse Manager, Staff Health and Wellbeing Service for Hunter New England LHD in NSW providing clinical leadership to a team of Staff Health and Wellbeing Nurses across the district. She specialises in the development of programs, strategies and policies to support the delivery of care to healthcare workers of all disciplines and grades. Jillian initiated and implemented the winning project for NSW Health Award in 2020: “Keeping Staff Safe – Reducing Needlestick Injuries”. Jillian’s clinical nursing career spanned 26yrs, with 16yrs in ICU (in Australia, London and New Zealand), and 4yrs as a GP Practice Nurse. She then completed her Master of Applied Management (Nursing) with Distinction and received award for highest GPA for her year which enabled her move into the field of Staff Health as Nurse Manager for 6yrs. She is currently on secondment in an operational management role at The Maitland Hospital.
