Muriel Lepesteur-Thompson

Dr Muriel Lepesteur-Thompson leads the Microbial Risk Unit within EPA Victoria’s Environmental Public Health Branch. This unit addresses microbial risk issues associated with pollution and waste, from organic, clinical wastes and animal facilities’ management to wastewater, recycled and recreational waters. She represents EPA Victoria and the environment in several One Health partnerships (CRC SAAFE, ARC Training Centre for the Transformation of Australia’s Biosolids Resource, One health Consortium). She is also a member of the NHMRC Recreational Water Quality Advisory Committee where she chairs the microbial risks subcommittee and an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
