Sarah Kidd is the Head of the National Mycology Reference Centre at SA Pathology, and an adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Biological Sciences, University of Adelaide. Sarah completed her Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours and her PhD at the University of Sydney. She has undertaken postdoctoral mycology research at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, and then at Monash University at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. She is a Fellow of the Australian Society for Microbiology and a Fellow of the European Confederation of Medical Mycology. 

Sarah co-ordinates the RCPA mycology quality assurance program for Australia and New Zealand and convenes a biennial Mycology Masterclass. She served as Secretary of the Australia New Zealand Mycoses Interest Group from 2011 to 2023. Her research interests include the epidemiology, phylogeny, and antifungal susceptibilities of clinically important fungi.
