Sarah Pope

A Registered Midwife and health system leader, Sarah is a passionate advocate for quality improvement. Sarah’s dedication to strengthening quality and safety has drawn her lead the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) portfolio in the ACT Health Directorate (Department of Health). In this role, Sarah coordinates the translation of national IPC initiatives into clinical practice across the ACT. In addition, Sarah represents the ACT on the National Sepsis Program and actively promotes sepsis awareness across the ACT health system. As the chairperson of the ACT and Region IPC Network, Sarah collaborates with clinical IPC experts from the public and private health care sectors along with epidemiology leads, ACT Ambulance Service, and representatives from the aged care sector to share IPC expertise and improve the quality and safety of health and aged care consumers across the ACT.
