Abstract:
This is an Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) workshop to introduce and explain how to use the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission’s Self-assessment tool for residential aged care homes (RACH). This tool supports the design and implementation of an AMS system in RACHs. It will be of interest to AMS Champions, IPC Leads and those who support AMS activities in RACHs.
The following areas will be covered in the workshop:
Introduction to ACQSC AMS SAT
- Understand what AMS SAT is and how to effectively use it in your aged care home.
Governance and Risk Minimisation
- Discuss how AMS SAT relates to this.
Strategies to Implement Actions
- Identify easy wins in AMS implementation
- Understanding your data and using it for improvement
- Explore more challenging strategies for sustained improvements
- Share and hear from others and gain ideas on new things to try
Resources/Tools/Interventions
- Discover resources, tools, and interventions to support AMS in aged care homes.
