Accreditation in the dental setting has two streams: public versus private. For public dental clinics, accreditation is compulsory, while private practices have the choice to become accredited. Regardless of which dental stream, the accreditation process remains the same. Dr Franklin will provide an overview on the accreditation process and requirements. Through a case study approach, she will discuss the challenges and benefits to accreditation and why accreditation is in the best interests of the patient, practice and industry. Lastly, Dr Franklin will provide a synopsis of the upcoming changes to accreditation in the dental setting.
